Progress is again underway with the house and finishing the upstairs. With grape harvest being over so much earlier this year, I have my sights on moving upstairs before Christmas!
EIFS window trim has certainly added the finishing touch to the exterior of our house! The brown trim accents the windows and I love the look of it with the red roof and yellow sides!
The glass block windows around the top of the cupola are now in and the house is officially dried in! That means that no rain can get in and progress is being made.
It is time to turn our multiple shades of grey house into a beeeeuuuuutiful yellow color – one shade of yellow all over the house! Yep, it’s time to apply the EIFS topcoat and I can’t wait to show you the difference!
Progress is being made on the house once again! No longer will we live in a multi-colored house. We are one step closer to finishing the outside stucco and having a beeeeuuutiful house!
With only a couple of pieces of metal left to put on the roof, the progress is astounding. The landscape around the vineyard has certainly changed! Being indecisive really bugs me but with the family’s help, the decision was made and the roof is red!
Yes, we had a few hiccups. I prefer to call them character builders. But, after three days work, our ICF walls for the upstairs, the main living area, are finished – stacked and filled with concrete.
ICF is definitely for DIY’ers and we have begun making progress on ours once again! With pruning the vineyard soon to start, we decided to have a steel structure put up for the metal roof before beginning the ICF walls.
With the footers and support walls finished, it is time to pour the concrete for the front porch. This is truly a family affair with John and the boys working well into the night to finish the concrete. That is what you get for being do-it-yourselfers.
