No More Milk – Yeah or Boohoo?

Drying off a family milk cow is always a bittersweet deal – you are glad for the break from milking but really miss the fresh milk! No more ice cream. No more fresh cheese. No more drinking milk to your heart’s content – or should I say stomach’s content?

Pellenc Precision Pruner TRP

Our new vineyard toy promises to cut our hand pruning time in half if not more! We are now able to prune at least an acre a day which is way faster than before the precision pruner! Our hands are already thanking us!

New Chicken Coop = No More Poop on My Porch!

If you have free-range chickens, you can probably sympathize with the embarrassment that having poop on your porch brings – ugh! Now, thanks to my chicken coop, there is no more poop on my porch. Complete with a clay tile roof it has five, easily accessible laying boxes! It is definitely one of the “little things in life” that bring pleasure to look at! No more can the chickens fly out and poop everywhere!

The Greenhouse is Finished!

Four Season Gardening – here I come! The greenhouse is finished and I just feel the need to brag a bit. Yes, I may be weird, but I am excited about the work that is ahead of me. Winter veggies are planted inside and beginning to grow plus, I now have room to start my garden seeds without taking up every windowsill in our home!

Hello CA and the Pellenc Precision Pruner

The fellas traveled to California to see the Pellenc Precision Pruner in action. This baby will save us months of work and the fun they had on the trip was icing on the cake! Using an infrared eye, the Pellenc Precision Pruner does what we do hand pruning in a fraction of the time! Here are some photos of the sights they saw.

New Family Milk Cow – Meet Margie!

Our barnyard is once again complete – we have a new family milk cow! Meet Margie, a full Jersey who is seven months pregnant and due to calve around March 20th. After two days, she has settled in and calmed down even during milking times.

Preparing for Planting Grapevines – 2015

Although we are not planting new acres of grapes until April, there is a lot to do in preparation for them. We like to have this prep work finished before pruning begins! The first step in preparation is laying the drip irrigation tape to water the new vines – come see how it’s done!
